How To Style A Brown And White Outfit For Fall

During the past two years I have been trying to curate a capsule wardrobe based on a color palette. This includes white, brown, beige, camel, maroon, blush, pink, and more. I love the warmer palette, and finding items to style together has never been easier because everything matches! If you’re wondering how to style a brown and white outfit for fall, then look no further!

White and brown are such a good color combo, especially with the exciting backdrop of fall foliage. My outfit has many shades of brown, so when you are styling an outfit try to incorporate different colors and materials too! From leather to suede, this look is both rustic and chic. My ribbed long sleeve is normally not that bunched up. I had a camisole underneath it with both tucked into my skirt. The cami got very bunched up so the ribbed shirt looks lumpy. I have also worn this top without anything underneath and it didn’t bunch up. I was kind of bummed I didn’t notice it in every shot, but it’s also super awkward to have to stick both hands into my skirt while on the side of the road shooting blog photos.. oh the things we do for fashion, haha!
Tip: Style different shades of the same color. Try incorporating 3 shades of one color in your look. Matchmaking made easy!
I accessorized my look with some vintage finds such as my vintage Coach bag and Frye boots. Both are from the 1970’s! I thrifted the bag for $30 years ago, and my aunt gave me her Frye boots as a gift. I love that both the boots and bag are both brown, but different colors. The bag is more of a classic leather color and the boots look rusted. Paired with the suede skirt, the look has a lot of color and dimension to it. They are similar colors, but not exactly the same so my brown and white outfit looks elegant and colorful!
Tip: Style similar colors with different textures to make your look stand out. This suede and leather combo makes my look more dynamic!
I think my outfit wouldn’t be complete without this hat. Given it was a windy day, I was holding it in a lot of photos. This Gladys Tamez white hat is definitely a showstopper! Every time I style a hat with an outfit I feel like my style is elevated. I have been collecting hats for that reason, and so far I have hats in all of these colors: white, pink, black and green. Guess what color I would love to have at hat in? BROWN! ?
