Vagabond Vintage

There is nothing quite like breathing new life into a vintage piece of clothing. It could be your grandmother’s earrings that you inherited, or it could be an 80’s leather jacket you found at a thrift store. No matter where the piece came from the sentimental values of vintage finds are incomparable. Vintage clothes have lived …

How To Style A Brown And White Outfit For Fall

During the past two years I have been trying to curate a capsule wardrobe based on a color palette. This includes white, brown, beige, camel, maroon, blush, pink, and more. I love the warmer palette, and finding items to style together has never been easier because everything matches! If you’re wondering how to style brown and white for fall, then look no further!

The Hotel deLuxe in Portland, Oregon

The hotel is incredibly chic, and it reminds me of a boutique hotel that should exist in Manhattan. The name says it all, Hotel deLuxe is incredibly luxe. From the moment you step inside you are greeted by giant chandeliers, a screen playing rolls of old Hollywood classics, fancy furniture and a lot of welcomes by staff members. I even got to pose in a vintage Rolls Royce for the photo shoot, I mean how much more classy can I get?? While I didn’t stay overnight at the hotel, I can definitely say from the rooms that I saw it is quite the chic hotel. The location is great too – you aren’t directly in the hustle and bustle of Portland, but everything is in walking distance. My favorite part of the hotel was the lobby – there is something so magical and luxurious about it! I could hang out there all day! Some other features of the hotel that I love are the intimate bar called Driftwood Room and the giant dining room restaurant called Gracie’s. With a piano, tall filigree beams and delicious food, Gracie’s is a show-stopper of a restaurant and adds to the old-school Hollywood feel of the hotel’s ambiance.

As Told By Ginger

Some of you may remember the classic Nickelodeon cartoon show about a spunky redheaded girl. If you don’t, it’s a TV show about a girl named Ginger’s journey through middle school. I’m sure we can all remember how painful that time was, with raging puberty and hormones. In the show there is a gaggle of mean girls who try to make Ginger and her friend’s lives difficult. I’m sure we have all experienced bullying in some way or form, but I think some of the worst type of bullying is making fun of someone’s physical appearance. Throw in some red hair, pasty skin and freckles – the bullies will have a field day with you! In 6th grade I remember a girl making fun of my eyelids having prominent veins since my skin is so pale. I’ve had people comment on my blog telling me that my outfit would look better on someone who isn’t so pale. I’ve had times where I was tested to spend hundreds of dollars a month on spray tans just so I can look normal. I have heard people say nasty comments like “well she’s a ginger so…” implying that people with red hair are inferior or ugly. I always wondered why I had to change myself to appease someone else. Was my red hair and pale skin that offensive?
