How to Style a Leather Harness

Harnesses can make quite the sartorial statement. In this post I am sharing how to style a leather harness with a casual outfit.

I have two sides: one that is obsessed with girly pink things, and the other that wants to listen to hard rock and wear all black. Typically my style revolves around a certain color scheme. One of those colors is certainly black, but I typically wear more camel and beige shades as a monochrome outfit. Since I don’t like to completely limit my style, I wanted to share another kind of outfit that I would wear – leather harness and all!

My friend Natalia made this black leather harness by hand, she is a couture leather worker and incredibly talented! Her store is called Haus of Jung. She also makes keychains, wallets, purses and totes. All of her stuff is amazing quality. I have a two keychains by her and I use them every day! The hardware on the keychains make them really unique.

I met the owner of Haus of Jung randomly in Joshua Tree National Park when I was camping with my husband. Me and Natalia instantly clicked because she’s such a rad chic, and we both love fashion. She was so gracious and gave me some of her creations. We had an impromptu photo shoot under the milky way and meteor shower. I was a really fun night!

Another part of this outfit that I am obsessed with is my Free People shirt – I wear it all the time! It is so cozy and I love the grungy style. It’s oversized so I wear a cute bralette underneath. I love the baggy sleeves of this top. Paired with some black pants, black combat boots and a leather harness – I feel like the most hardcore chick in Portland! When styling a leather harness make sure the top you are wearing underneath will be able to move around with ease. You don’t want to feel stuck in your own outfit! I also recommend styling a harness with a black top, to monochrome the look or a white top, to add some interesting contrast to the outfit. No matter how you style a leather harness, you will look like a total badass!
