How beautiful are these Shirofugen cherry blossom trees?! 😍🌸 Over twenty-five years ago the City of Vancouver, Washington received a gift of friendship from Joyo, Japan: 100 Shirofugen cherry trees.
The trees were planted at Clark College, and over the years have grown and bloomed into impressively large trees. During spring the entire campus is dusted over with delicate pink petals. Vancouver is sister cities with Joyo, Japan, and the annual Clark College Sakura Festival was created to showcase the sister-city relationship and celebrate the gift of the cherry blossoms.
I just have to say I am SO grateful that people in the 90’s were compassionate enough to plant trees. Also – the 100 cherry blossom trees were planted on Earth Day! The sprouts start out small, but 20 years later will turn into this beautiful scene. Walking through these trees is like walking through a hallway of fluffy pink flowers. The way the branches rustle with their bunches of petals is so serene and calming. You can spend hours looking up and trying to absorb all of the beauty!
These pastel peach shorts are from the Australian brand C/MEO Collective. I love this brand because of their unique styles and architectural pieces. The price point is slightly higher, but the quality is unbeatable. Check out Fashion BNKR, which is a collective of Australian fashion labels – all of the designers make incredibly chic, conceptual styles. I got both my shorts and this white eyelet top years ago. Styling both for spring and summer is so exciting, it’s always fun to pull out some old clothing in your wardrobe to style for years to come. I have really been trying to curate a wardrobe I can do that with. Pastel peach and white are the perfect shades for my warm aesthetic.
