Cheers from the West Coast! I’m so excited to share this cute overall skirt that I wore to the Oregon tulip festival. This is my first official outfit post since I moved. What better place to shoot an overall skirt than a functioning tulip farm? I mean look at all of these flowers! There are so many colors and the rows go so deep it feels an endless garden. I could spend all day at the Wooden Shoe Tulip festival located in Oregon. This was me and my husband’s first real PNW activity. Since the PNW is a temperate rain forest, there are SO many different types of gardens here. I love all of the different species of trees and plants that you see in Oregon and Washington. It looks like a fairyland here.

My favorite tulips are the yellow ones with the pink highlights on them, although I’d take a bouquet of any. I wore my black denim overall skirt because I thought it would be the cutest thing to wear to a tulip farm. I mean, a farm and a pair of overalls go hand-in-hand am I right? While I’m not really the farmer-chic type, I thought pairing the overalls with a statement red blouse would be perfect. I kept the look casual with my favorite Nike sneakers. After all, the farms get really muddy and messy so you want to make sure you wear the right shoes!
I can’t wait to explore more of the PNW. My husband Scott and I already have a photo shoot at a new garden planned. It’s the Japanese Garden in Portland, OR! I can’t wait to see all of the different scenery. Isn’t it such a wonder that all of these different types of plants, flowers and trees can thrive in the same area? There is also a Chinese garden and a rose garden that I most definitely will be taking pictures at. I try so hard not to be girly, but I really need to get over myself. Flowers are so pretty, and no matter how moody or minimal my style is, I still love a good floral backdrop.

May 15, 2018Welcome to
Oregon! Aren’t the tulip fields positively dreamy? I was born/raised here & just recently moved back. ❤️ You’ll love both those Japanese & Chinese gardens in Pdx, be sure to also check out the Rose test garden quickly while they’re all starting to bloom. 🙂 Here are my pics of the Lan Su Chinese garden: http://untoadoption.org/lan-su-chinese-garden/
