I consider a floral maxi dress as summer camouflage. Living in the PNW there is no shortage of flowers, so styling floral-print anything alongside these gorgeous backdrops looks like camouflage to me!
Some people like to wear actual camo, but not I. Give me a gorgeous rhododendron bush, just like this one, and a floral maxi dress and I will blend right in. I mean can you even see me in these photos?! I’m totally kidding by the way, but I still love the idea of a floral camouflage.
I remember when my husband was in the Army he was going to be attending a sniper school. We spent hours and hours hand-stringing green rope onto a ghillie suit for his class. It took a while to make, but it came out pretty cool. It definitely works for its purpose, but I wonder who would be better at hiding – Scott in his ghillie suit or me in my floral maxi dress? I’ll let you all be the judge! While this specific dress is sold out, I did purchase it at Nordstrom, where they have a huge selection of current floral maxi dresses to choose from. Another bonus of shopping at Nordstrom is the free shipping perk! They also have many options for petite, plus and beyond!
I have also created a widget of shoppable floral maxi dresses so you can jump on this new “summer camouflage” trend. I’m excited for my upcoming trip to the peony gardens. I will be wearing a pink dress among a sea of pink flowers, so stay tuned for more summer camouflage blog posts, haha!
