Flower Power: 70’s Bell Sleeve Dress

I am all about the flower power in this 70’s bell sleeve dress! The 70’s were such an iconic decade when it comes to fashion, music and art. This decade is referenced constantly in pop culture, and on the runways at fashion week. Not only was flower power flowing through everyone’s mind, but it was also printed on every other dress, shirt or pants. The 70’s aesthetic is heavily referenced in modern fashion styles. Retailers are still selling bell sleeves, wide leg pants, crop tops, crochet, just to name a few. We also can’t forget oversized sunglasses and the model Twiggy!

This dress reminds me of a 70’s go-go dancer. I styled my bell sleeve dress with a pink Kate Spade bag. The heart and spade hardware detail of this bag has me wondering if I am more of a Queen of Hearts or an Ace of Spades? I like to think I am both 😉 The pastel pink shade of this bag will bring a pop to any outfit this spring and summer. I paired my outfit and bag with a simple pair of white pumps. I love my Sam Edelman pumps because they go with everything. They are amazing quality and come in so many colors. I love collecting the basic colors because I can wear them with so many outfits. The nude ones are my favorite!

This shoot was so fun because I look like I’m about to hit up the disco after my stroll in the flower nursery. I chose this spot as my shoot location because Portland has the best nurseries. I thought the vibrant background of plants and flowers would match this flower power bell sleeve dress perfectly. In fact, it matches so well it’s almost like camouflage!
