Summer Beauty Favorites

It’s that time of year! My seasonal roundup has arrived and this time I’m serving up some fabulous summer beauty products. These are all on my must-have list and I absolutely adore each product I tested! With the intense summer heat and strong rays from the sun, your hair and skin need products that they can rely on. Sun Bum

SPF 50 Sunscreen

The first time I ever tried Sun Bum, I was in a coastal town in North Carolina called Beaufort. I walked into a local surf/beach store and I saw all of the amazing products lined up. I was so impressed by the packaging I had to pick something up! I opened the sunscreen and smelled it, and boy did my life change! The Sun Bum products smell like Piña Coladas, in my opinion. I love this sunscreen and it’s protection is always on point. It doesn’t easily wash off in water, and the smell alone will have you in a summer daze. I don’t use any other sunscreen – I love my sun bum.

Natural Browning Lotion

One key aspect of protecting your skin this summer is to simply stay out of the sun. Baking in the sun all day may get you tan, but it is very harmful for your skin and speeds up the aging and wrinkling process. You can look fabulous and tan with this lovely self-tanner by Sun Bum. This product will give you that fast, deep tan, without having to spend long hours in the sun. Some other amazing tidbits about this product are that it’s gluten free, cruelty free, and 100% vegan!

Shine Spray

Give your hair that après-beach or pool glow. This product gives your hair a healthy shine and hydrated feel after a long day in the water.  There’s nothing like the salty ocean in your hair with a little shine! I really love this product because a little goes a long way. It’s so easy to use and is the perfect go-to after a day out of the sun. So effortless!

Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 30 – Watermelon

This will be in my purse all summer long! This chapstick is refreshing not only because of the amazing aloe vera formula, but also because of the lovely watermelon scent! Not to mention the SPF 30 protects your lips from sunburns. Remember to protect your lips this summer ladies!

“Cool Down” Hydrating After Sun Lotion

Everyone needs a trustworthy bottle of aloe during the summer. After a long, lazy day in the sun, your skin needs revitalization and hydration! Sun Bum’s “Cool Down” lotion is enriched with soothing Aloe and Vitamin E, providing intense hydration to gently moisturize your skin. The light, non-greasy formula is quickly absorbed, leaving the skin smooth and soft. As a naturally pale person, I thrive off of a good sunscreen and aloe combination. “I like coconuts, you can break them open and they smell like ladies lying in the sun…” This oil comes in a dropper form. You just squeeze a little bit into your hands and massages the oil on your face and body. This product smells sooooo gooood. It is the perfect summer scent and a really nice product to renew and repair your skin. This bottle is only $15! Rosehip Anti-Aging Oil

Another product that smells absolutely divine! The Rosehip oil has ultimate anti-aging powers – it quenches dry skin and restores radiance for a softer, brighter and more even skin tone. I love to lather this on after a shower, it’s such a lovely and dreamy scent, perfect for summer.

Vitamin C Brightening Sheet Masks

There’s nothing quite relaxing as drinking a glass of wine while watching Moana with a citrus face mask soaking into your skin. This is one of the most hydrating masks I have ever tried. I normally do a topical mask, but I really enjoyed this sheet mask! This is the PERFECT mask for summer because it improves the look of sun damage spots and age spots. It’s jam-packed with Vitamin C, among many other minerals this mask will deeply moisturize your skin. After using it mine felt soooo lush afterwards – even through the next morning!

Vichy Mineral 89

This product says it will plump and freshen your face – and it does just that. I really adore this product. It works so well with my skin (mildly dry) and there’s nothing like lathering my face up with a dime-sized dollop of the Mineral 89 forumla, which hydrates and fortify skin, making it more resistant to visible aging caused by pollution, fatigue. After I put it on my face feels so refreshed and plump, something we could all use during the drying summer heat.

Aveda

“Be Curly” Curl Advancer

I have naturally wavy hair, but when I style it with curling gel and give it a good scrunch, I can get some pretty rocking curls. My mom actually has very curly hair! I really love this product because it gets the job done – it intensifies my curls, combats frizz and boosts shine on curly or wavy hair. This is an amazing summer product because it is aloe-infused. This product will tame your frizz in summer humidity’s, and it also smells ah-mazing with the organic lemon, bergamot (google this I had never heard of it!), orange and other pure flower and plant essences.
