I can honestly say that I am FINALLY in the Christmas spirit! I don’t know why, but in early December I just don’t feel it. I think once Scott and I hung our Christmas decor up around the house and finally got our tree, it settled in. I love the ambiance of listening to holiday music while putting ornaments on the tree and sipping on hot chocolate. I am also a candle obsessive so I have about 15 tea lights going on with a big candle that smells like fresh vanilla sugar cookies, how’s that for ambiance?! One of my favorite Christmas songs is “Last Christmas” by Wham! It is, in my humble opinion, THE BEST Christmas song in history. So you can imagine me, swaying in my living room to Wham!, drinking hot chocolate, surrounded by many fire hazards – very festive indeed!
For this holiday-themed shoot Scott and I went to Raleigh and found the cutest little shopping center. It looks like a small European town and it has the most fabulous Christmas tree front and center! I love how much effort the shops put into decorating and the fancy fire escapes that add such a cute and rustic detail to the space. With stores like decor, a chocolate boutique and a spa, this little plaza definitely has charm!
In this shoot I’m wearing my DownEast Basic little black dress, which has become a favorite of mine this season. I not only love the chic black color, but I also love the fit and materials of the dress. It is a very cozy and warm dress, but it also looks like a showstopper! One of my favorite things about this dress is how versatile it is, just like I’ve mentioned on my previous DownEast Basics clothes (read me first post here and my second here). I can wear this dress while sitting down for long hours at work, I can twirl around this dress for a fun night out, I can style this dress up for a function, or I can wear it to a brunch with my girlfriends. You can wear it with booties, heels, Mary Janes, and more! I love pieces that are so easy to style, and with this fabulous DownEast Basics dress, you can achieve any look. It’s the perfect holiday little black dress!
Thank you DownEast Basics for sponsoring this post!
