Salishan Resort Spa & Golf: Oregon Coast Vacation

The Salishan Resort is the vacation everyone needs in their life. Relax by the Oregon coast and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. This iconic resort is known for its gorgeous spa, 18-hole golf course, and relaxing beach views. The trip is a short drive from Portland, which makes it the perfect PNW getaway. This resort has it all – the adventure of the coastline, but the relaxing atmosphere of the spa and golf. The Salishan Resort truly is a gem of the coast.

The Grounds
The Salishan Resort is located in Gleneden Beach, OR. The resort itself is massive, and tucked away in the woods right by the ocean. The ambiance of the Salishan Resort and hotel is rustic chic. I loved the upscale aspect of the resort, while still maintaining that “summer camp” feel. The best part about the Oregon coast is how close the forest gets to the ocean. The Salishan is tucked away in the woods with ocean views and oceanside golfing. The spa has a wonderful view of the bay. The scenery is relaxing and peaceful, and the resort goes above and beyond to make your stay a rejuvenating experience.
Morning yoga, guided art walks, nature tours and more. There is something to do for everyone, and the environment was extremely family-friendly. Another aspect I love is how dog-friendly the resort is. There were happy pups everywhere and the resort staff even throws a “Pups and Pints” activity where they serve bacon-infused water to your furry friends. While I didn’t bring my dog on this trip, I got to pet all the other cuties!
There were so many places to lounge and soak up the ocean air. I love all of the amenities such as a pool, indoor tennis courts, activities, spa, golfing and more! This was such an epic vacation, and I’m excited about the glamping experience they are bringing to the Salishan Resort! What could be better than tents along the bay and waking up to the ocean mist every morning?
The Spa
By far one of my favorite aspects of this trip! As soon as you walk into the Salishan spa, you immediately feel relaxed. The staff was very helpful and made me feel right at home. Before our massages, my husband Scott and I lounged in the men’s and women’s areas and sat in the steam room and sauna. There were also hot tubs to soak in before your massage. After about 15-minutes in the steam room, we reconvened in the co-ed area where you get the best ocean views.
One of my favorite parts about the spa was the architecture and design. The modern style of the rustic wood felt very relaxing, the soft music put you in the “spa” mood, and the healthy snacks and bountiful water made you feel like you could stay all day. The infinity pool that also has jets is a must. I’m already going through these pictures and dreaming of going back! Check out my Instagram story highlight “PNW” to see my stay and spa experience!
Scott and I got a couples “Coastal Classic” which is a Swedish massage. During the massage I could not help but think how euphoric it was. The massage therapist was very mindful to my sensitive spots, and did a wonderful job working out all of the knots in my muscles. Scott and I have had a very stressful few months so these massages were much needed! I felt so rejuvenated after my time at the spa. The Salishan Resort truly knows how to capture recreation and relaxation!
The Resort
The resort itself has so much to offer. I feel like most hotels you barely spend time at the actual location, but the Salushan is somewhere you will want to stay for a while. There is an upscale bar that has jazz musician every night, there are indoor tennis courts that are open to guests, there are covered walkways to escape the PNW rain, and the wide variety of “coastal” food was yummy and fresh.
Scott and I got breakfast, lunch and dinner at the resort and loved every meal. I am a huge seafoodie so I wanted to try all of the clam chowder, scallops and fish tacos I could find! As a New Englander at heart I was impressed by the quality of seafood on the Oregon Coast. The Salishan’s clam chowder is on point – and that’s coming from a girl from Boston!
Our room was spacious and the ambiance of the Salishan Resort was present. I love the rustic chic design with modern amenities. And if you weren’t relaxed enough while lounging at the spa – the bathtub in the hotel room even had jets! We loved our room, and the view was even better.
Scott and I are very outdoorsy people, so we loved being able to sleep in the middle of a forest, and wake up the next day to do some adventuring outside. Near the resort you can walk along the beach, drive for coastal cliffs, and enjoy the local seafood scene. There is SO much to do at this resort. No matter what your plan is – to explore the beautiful landscapes of the coast, play a weekend of golf, or completely relax at the spa – the Salishan Resort is a luxurious way to recharge by the coast.
