Simply. Sophisticated. Summer.

One of the most difficult things I face is maintaining a stylish work wardrobe. I always drift towards stand-out pieces like these rainbow pants or a pink leather jacket. Yes, my style can get just a little extra. Through my corporate experience (all 2 years, lol) I have found some brands that make looking stylish for work as simple as putting on the clothes. One of my favorite workwear brands is Banana Republic. Their style is so sophisticated and I can easily be wearing 3 Banana pieces in one outfit on any given day of the week. My Banana collection keeps growing, but hey I can’t complain!

Inspiring Women: Careers, Family & Style

The term “looking up to someone” is one we have heard since we were kids. Well first off we were short so we literally had to look up, and secondly, that person had something so special about them we wanted to be just like them. I have this vision of myself that has been shaped by some of the amazing women I have met during my journey. My whole life I have wanted to be successful – to have the job, to have the clothes, to have the lifestyle. And I’ll be damned I had to work very hard to achieve that success. I am 24-years-old and there is SO much I still have to learn. Thankfully for me, I have quite a few women that I look up to who constantly inspire me to be just like them.

In an industry that celebrates youth, I want to celebrate successful women with one of the most important qualities in a person – life experience. I have always been a goal chaser and have high hopes for myself to achieve success. These women are role models to me for many reasons. They are true to themselves and through that they have achieved success that meets many definitions.

Wedding Guest Style Inspiration

Last weekend I attended the wedding of  my husband’s best friend. The wedding was in Chattanooga, Tennessee and it was the most quintessentially southern wedding I have ever seen. The rustic-style setting was so quaint and the venue itself was on a small farm.

Mara Hoffman Rainbow Pants

Why do people always think I’m crazy when I say that my favorite color is rainbow? I know rainbow is not actually a color, but it’s still all of the colors combined, and I obviously can’t pick just one! It’s like someone thinking I’m crazy for saying that my favorite animal is a unicorn. I think you can all see where I’m going with this.. Yeah I’m pretty crazy, hah!

Easter Outfit

Last weekend my friend Amy and I got in her car and drove all around Fayetteville in search for some dogwood blooms. Dogwoods are trees and their buds are the state flower of North Carolina. The only bad thing about them is that they only bloom for about a week, and then they die. We did find a few trees like the tall white one pictured below, but we also found some lovely pink bushes with hibiscus-like flowers. I love exploring during a photo shoot. I generally pick a spot and just walk around and explore the entire time with my photographer, capturing my outfit as we go. It’s especially fun to shoot like that while traveling.

Feeling Blue, But Still Smiling

Let me start off this post with a summary of how I feel: deployments suck. For those of you who don’t know by now, I am a military spouse and my husband is currently serving a tour in Iraq. We are three months into the deployment (wooohoo!!) and we have six months left. Although I have …
