Cozy Off The Shoulder Sweater + Tips On Being Happy

The best time to wear a cozy sweater… is all the time! I am such a huge fan of this NA-KD cozy off the shoulder sweater. I love the off-the-shoulder aspect, and the fact that it slouches in the most perfect places. The best part is that it comes in 12 colors! I opted for this red color because I don’t have a red sweater and I’m trying my hardest to stay away from pink 😛 Styling this look was super easy because of my skirt. I love pieces with a lot of colors because it means more outfits to match with! I paired my cozy sweater and skirt with black accessories – my booties and my bag. Now that we have touched all of the bases regarding this look, I wanted to tap into something more personal, something that I have overcome recently.

Recently I’ve been struggling with being happy and I’ve been feeling depressed and anxious. I have a lot of self-doubt and I’m very insecure. These two vices make running a blog extremely difficult at times. I am my hardest critic and as I love being a Virgo, our sense of perfectionism can be toxic. Because after all, nobody is perfect and I need to come to terms that I don’t need to change myself to be happy, I simple need to change the way I see myself and the world. This new positive outlook has made an impact on my everyday life. I started to implement healthy thinking exercises and adopted a cup-half-full mentality.
The past month I’ve felt scared, unsure and worrisome – now I feel like I’m riding a rainbow on a unicorn!! Here’s how I pulled myself out of my rut:
1.
I wrote down a motivational and positive message every day in my planner so I could read it the next day. This is a great way to give back to yourself and tell yourself POSITIVE things as opposed to putting yourself down with negative anxiety.
2.
I compliment another person. Smiles are contagious, and simply showing kindness to another person will make you feel better inside and out. I like to go to work and tell people they look good, it’s bound to get a smile out of someone!
3.
I started making myself to-do lists of the simple tasks I need to complete that day. This will hold you ACCOUNTABLE and make you feel ACCOMPLISHED when you check off the box once the task is completed.
4.
I made a list of my insecurities and then I crumbled it in a ball and threw it away. This was odd, because it started off as very toxic, but once I got it all out of me I felt so much better. Then throwing the list away was even more therapeutic. I feel like I’m not a victim to my insecurities any more.
I hope you will implement these tips into your lifestyle. I am trying to be a more confident and an overall optimistic person by shedding my anxiety. So far so good!
