Caroline Herrera Fall/Winter 2014
“Welcome to the House of Herrera,” read the shirts of every 6ft+ beautiful man who was leading guests into the Lincoln Center theatre. It was quite the welcome for the flirty collection Caroline had in store for us. From knee-length cocktail dresses to full-length red carpet looks, everything in this collection screamed romance. I could envision the models walking off the runway, grabbing one of those hot dudes, and hitting the city for a classy afternoon brunch at the Waldorf hotel. The color pallet ranged all the way down the red spectrum, from fire-engine to rusty brown. Elbow length bell-sleeve made multiple appearances. Crystal appliqué showed the softer side of the construction of the garments, while a stunning floor length dress modeled by Karlie Kloss showed the true craftsmanship of proportions. Hand painted geometric prints gave the collection a whimsy feel and would be the perfect option for a romantic getaway somewhere much warmer than NYC. Sexy strapped heels hugged the models’ feet tightly – paired with brown tights, black tights, or no tights at all, those pointed-toe heels are a shoe lovers fantasy. With one of the most romantic holidays around the corner, Carolina Herrara served up an excitingly romanticized collection. How charming would it be to get your hands on one of these dresses for Valentines day?
