Feeling Fresh with Clinique

Feeling Fresh with Clinique

There is nothing as refreshing as the cold air of the mountains. During my trip to Utah I snowboarded at some of the biggest resorts in the country – sometimes at an elevation of 11,000 feet above sea level. At higher altitudes your skin’s moisture evaporates faster and your face becomes easily irritated. When you are riding down a mountain as fast as you can, your skin gets dry and you can often get windburn. During spring skiing it is very common to get a sunburn, or a goggle tan, because the sun reflects off of the snow making it even more potent on your skin.

As you can see, outdoor activities can be tough on your skin. After a long day of snowboarding, dirt biking, running, or play football, it is important to protect your skin before and after your activities – especially during a change in seasons. When spring peaks its head around the calendar, the snow caps of the giant mountains melt and turn into a vast, natural water resource. The melted snow goes anywhere from small creeks, to big rivers and also to water reservoirs. It is amazing how the snow that kills off plants and buries trees ends up to be the one that pumps life back into them!

Just like Utah and its abundance of outdoor activities and gorgeous mountains, Clinique has the perfect refresh you need for spring. These products, which I have reviewed below, are perfect for everyone no matter where they are located. Whether its the humid, pollen-ridden South East or the dusty, dry air of the West, along with any other season that requires skincare attention (which is every season, duh! you skin always needs attention), Clinique has a variety of products to meet your skincare needs.

Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush – This motorized brush gives your face the most luscious clean. It is gentle, yet offers a deep scrub and will have your face feeling refreshed. One of my favorite things about this brush is that after using it, your skin feels incredibly firm. It’s like all of the gunk and pollution have been lifted out of your pores and your face is squeaky clean! My other favorite thing about this brush is that it is extremely easy to travel with. For a size comparison, it is just a few inches longer than the average human hand. For $89.00 you will have the easiest way to wash your face and the best possible clean your skin could ask for. I highly recommend this product!

Extra Gentle Cleansing Cream – Just one pump of this foam cream on your Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush is enough to take your skin to the ultimate level of cleanliness. You can use this product with just your hands, but when paired with the Sonic Cleansing Brush, they make a dynamic duo. I have been using the two products together for two weeks and my skin has never felt so healthy. I generally wash my face at night and the next morning my skin is still equally as refreshed!

Extra Gentle Cleansing Brush Head – This brush head was developed specifically for people with sensitive skin. This extra-soft brush head lifts the impurities in your skin that hand washing often misses. Combined with the Sonic Cleansing Brush, the gentle sonic action of the brush head helps boost your skin’s glow. The bristles are so soft it feels like the fur of a chinchilla! Make sure you take your makeup off before you use the brush head and sonic brush!

Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel -First off, the colors of this gel are aesthetics to the max. I love the matte, pastel yellow color of this product! This gel is a dermatologist-developed formula that combines oil-free hydration with skin-strengthening ingredients to help keep your skin looking younger. It is the ideal product for oily skin types, but I highly suggest this product for a lighter summer moisturizer or a moisturizer to wear directly under your makeup. This gel is very lightweight and rubs in and absorbs very quickly.

Dramatically Different Moisturizing Cream -This cream is perfect when used after the cleansing brush. Since the brush cleans out all of the oils, makeup and dirt that have gotten on your face throughout the day, you need to hydrate your skin with this lovely cream. It has a heavier base so I  recommend this product for people with dryer skin. It is also the perfect cream to let soak on your face after a facial or a steamed shower. Paired with the Sonic Cleaning Brush, your face will feel INCREDIBLE!

Pep-Start Eye Cream – This eye cream is my favorite item out of the bunch! The packaging is adorable and I love the pull and push opening/closing aspect of the tube. It’s really fun to pop open and shut! The texture of the cream is very soft and it has the iridescence of a pearl. I felt like I was putting creamy, souffléd pearls on my eyes – that’s how luxurious it feels! The Pep-Start brings my eyes back to life after a long day at work, or in the morning when I’m getting my day started.
