Sending Holiday Cheer Overseas

This post has been sponsored by American Greetings. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It is crazy to think that 9 months of this year was spent during a deployment. Ever since Scott got back from Iraq, we have been attached at the hip! While he was gone we missed many holidays, birthdays, and weddings. That’s the nature of the military – your spouse being away during quality family time. There are thousands of soldiers who are currently deployed and will not be able to be home during this holiday season. Since I know what it’s like having a deployed soldier, I also have an idea of what goodies to send during a deployment. I’m sure any deployed soldier would agree with me; pretty much anything beats the same old food they serve up at the dining hall.

Let Me Tell You About Frank

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of The J.M. Smucker Company. The opinions and text are all mine. I’m partnering with Folgers® at Walmart through the Share A Cup & A Story campaign, to create personal connections with Veterans and honor their service to our country.

In honor of this upcoming Veterans Day, I invited my neighbor Frank over for a cup of Folgers® Classic Roast from Walmart while we chatted about his military background and his service to our country. In all honestly, I never knew much about the military until I became a military spouse. What I’ve learned is that the military community has the strongest support system I’ve ever seen. Thankfully for me and my husband Scott, our neighbor Frank looks out for us both in terms of careers and simply being a good neighbor.

Bridging The Gap: Suzanne Bell

I am so excited to announce the launch of the Bridging the Gap campaign! Taking part in social change, 200 Influencers have stepped up to challenge the social media and fashion industry as we know today. Men and women from multiple ages, backgrounds and disciplines have so much to offer one another. After all, we are stronger together! This fall’s campaign unites the Millennial and Midlife Demographics to blur artificial boundaries while encouraging the concept of reciprocal mentorship – a new and empowered way of bringing the generations together by each sharing their unique gifts with the other.

For this campaign, I am partnered with the fabulous Suzanne Bell of AskSuzanneBell.com. I had such an amazing time getting to know Suzanne and truly bridging the gap of our ages. Below you can read her biography, and get to know more about this woman who has lived around the world, worked as a fashion buyer for Nordstrom, and has lived a very exciting and chic life thus far!

Inspiring Women: Careers, Family & Style

The term “looking up to someone” is one we have heard since we were kids. Well first off we were short so we literally had to look up, and secondly, that person had something so special about them we wanted to be just like them. I have this vision of myself that has been shaped by some of the amazing women I have met during my journey. My whole life I have wanted to be successful – to have the job, to have the clothes, to have the lifestyle. And I’ll be damned I had to work very hard to achieve that success. I am 24-years-old and there is SO much I still have to learn. Thankfully for me, I have quite a few women that I look up to who constantly inspire me to be just like them.

In an industry that celebrates youth, I want to celebrate successful women with one of the most important qualities in a person – life experience. I have always been a goal chaser and have high hopes for myself to achieve success. These women are role models to me for many reasons. They are true to themselves and through that they have achieved success that meets many definitions.
